Start Journaling your way towards better mental health

Previously, I discussed gratitude journaling’s benefits in-depth. The following post provides a simple 5-prompt journaling guide for you to begin taking steps to promote your mental health and overall well-being. Here is a link to my previous post, which is very informative and a must-read.

A gratitude journal offers a perceptive introduction to those considering beginning a gratitude journal. As such, I recommend this as a starting point for all of us to consider. During my darkest hours, this was my first foray into the world of journaling. As soon as I tried this method for the first time, I felt like a little child. It was like inhaling a constant stream of light that energized me.

Some of the other benefits are:

  • Rather than dwell on the negatives, it shifts your attention to the positive things in your life.
  • You become more in-tune with your immediate and long-term relationships. It is thanks to gratitude that you can discover the positive attributes that you possess and strengthen your relationship with yourself. Furthermore, gratitude helps you to discover the positive attributes that you possess, which in turn strengthens your relationship with others.
  • Ensures optimism by focusing on what is working well and what can be improved. You can harness the things in your life that are going well at present and make sure that they continue to go well in the future by being grateful right now.
  • The act of being thankful enhances your creative mind in an age when negativity is abound. We are constantly overwhelmed by negative news, so the act of being thankful opens up opportunities for wonder and imagination.
